2007
Another year has begun and we are finally starting the year with more organisation
than the previous years. This year we have only 2 stables remaining to be put up, only a few minor adjustments to fencing,
a few water lines to put in place and we also need to purchase a pump for the dam to provide water for the paddocks rather
than relying on our tank water. We also plan to over sow our paddocks to improve the pasture ever decreasing the amount of
hand feeding required.
All these ideas are more labour intensive than money so we should have a good
year.
Sharni is now in her 4th month of pregnancy and she is coming along nicely. She
is holding her weight well on the minimum hand feeding.
Champ is so well named! He is just so full of himself and very showy - hopefully
he will become someones real champion in the showring. Unfortunately his dam is not fairing so well as he is a very big boy
and stripping the weight off her now. We have decided that at the end of next month we will wean him and give her a chance
to improve her weight before winter hits. She has proven to be an excellent mother and with such a stunning progeny we will
definitely breed her again - the end of this year to Radar hopefully resulting in a pinto foal.
What has happened to this year ? The months have just flown past - does this mean we have been really
busy or just getting old?
We here at Rasheeba have had a pretty good winter with feed and water. Early this month we reseeded
our paddocks with rye grass and hopefully our improvements will be enough to help us have a good summer with our pastures.
Here it is mid August and the foaling season has begun. Our first and only foal for this year is
due early October. Sharni is progressing well. She looks very fit and healthy although now is showing the sookie signs
she had with Stormy Trix. We will all be glad and have a huge sigh of relief once this foal arrives safely. Until then
it is a little nerve wracking.
Our plans for the coming year are a little bigger than they have been in the past. This season we
hope to have 3 mares in foal.
We will be putting Bluegum Champagne Lady back in foal - this time to our own stallion - DCS
Tempestuous ( Radar). This mating will be a 32% arabian. We are hoping that he will be a colour producer for us. As he hasnt
been used before next seasons foal crop will be a very exciting one for us.
We also will be using 2 maiden mares - Forest Dale A Touch of Class ( Mirror) and Shamazan
Amira. Mirror will be going to Credo Zadell for an absolutely stunning foal we hope and Amira will be going to our own
Radar. This mating will be a 50% arabian and hopefully pinto as well.

This morning at 4am Sharni presented us with a very pretty Buckskin filly. The delivery went very
well no problems there. We had problems with Sharni not allowing her to feed for hours so at 8am we decided to hold
Sharni while we coaxed the little filly who had started to lose a bit of her strength to feed. It was a much bigger task than
we first thought it would be. I ended up having to milk Sharni as she was so full to reduce the pressure for her so that she
would then allow the filly to feed. Finally, after an hour we had success and the filly has now had a few little feeds since.
It all seems like I can now leave for work .... a few hours late but at least all is well.
You can see photos of our new filly on her page Rasheeba Something Special.
2006
Lanis foal continues to grow see her own page - Rasheeba Iniki and it seems that
we have our 2 mares - Mirror and Lady in foal. This year we will concentrate on getting all our paddocks into a better condition,
constructing a lockable stable and providing more adequate shelters as well as constructing a round yard where we will be
able to start working all our horses more easily.

Oh no this morning i had a terrible fall - no..... not off a horse but down our back stairs
so i am on crutches and hobbling around for about 6 weeks with a bad sprain and bruising. Not much going to happen now for
a while.
Here it is late may and my ankle seems to of developed a secondary injury. My nerves
and ligaments are more severely damaged than first thought so it was off to the specialist and now i am in a special aid called
an air boot. This allows me to walk on my foot with the support of crutches and gives me a little more mobility. Up until
now i have not been able to feed the horses or do anything with them. My injury is going to take a few months to heal. Meanwhile
Iniki is becoming a handfull for all who feed her.
Mid july and still in the airboot ! The horses are not getting the work they need especially
Iniki and Amira. We are just managing with feeding and the building work has not been started! Time is running out with
our first foal due October 16th and second one November 8th
August 2006
The first three shelters are up ! They are all in time for the beginning of spring and to
welcome the new additions as they come. Radar is happy to have a bit of shelter now too although he still likes his
temporary one of posts and shade cloth. The roundyard and a bit more fencing are next on the agenda as soon as we can organise
the workmen and weather to cooperate.
No Foal from Mirror
this year .............. we brought her home last week in preparation for her November foal however we had our doubts of a
pregnancy and now she has definitely come into season being next to Radar. That is a nuisance as we again have one foal for
the year. She will have to go back for a return to the chosen stallion.
October 30 2006
Champagne Lady has presented us with a very big
palomino colt this evening at 10:45pm. We have named him Rasheeba Champers Gold (pending). For all the details see his page.
Sharni .....our pinto mare has gone to Krystal Creek Arabians for her date with Destiny. We
are now waiting to see if she will come back into season although we believe she is in foal. This will be a very interesting
mating as Destiny has pinto in his bloodlines and a palomino pinto would be just beautiful !! And a colt is what we will be
hoping for.
2005
This year we eagerly await the birth of our first two foals. Our two mares in foal this year are
Sharni and Lani. Both our girls are due in January.
Lani is a thoroughbred and is in foal to a stunning quarter horse stallion - Top Lion. ( pics to
come)
We had our vet out this week ( 23 November) - he is sure that Lani is going to foal early. By
the 17 December we should have our first foal on site. Lets see how right he is !!
Sharni is our beautiful coloured pinto/arabian mare in foal to the stunning arabian stallion
Wollumbin Bronson.(now gelded)
STOP PRESS
On friday night 2 December 2005 we were presented with an absolutely beautifully marked
colt from our most wonderful and clever mare Sharni. He decided to come into this world a little early but after
a few initial dramas of not suckling and not pooing properly got the all clear bill of health from our vet. As you can see
from our photos he is beautiful.
Thanks go to Kerry from Krystal Creek Arabians for your knowledge and assistance in the early hours
of saturday morning to a little distressed "new parent". And also for giving us the chance to own this wonderful pair.
